Many of you have noticed that over the last couple of months we’ve been releasing some really great new features. This past month we released Real-time Rates and the response we’ve received from our customers has been very exciting.

With this great new product lenders no longer have to spend time each day looking up the days most recent rates and then updating those on your own page. Instead all you need to do is set up your rate scenarios one time and like clockwork your rates update on a daily basis.

If you’re like most people then you probably have a handful of accounts throughout the internet each requiring login credentials. Because remembering this information can be difficult many people simply use one password for everything. Doing this is incredibly dangerous.

The last thing you want is someone to log into your Etrafficers account and steal application information, make unauthorized changes to your account, or steal the account all together. Frequently changing your password is a great way to avoid any of this unsavory activity.

Over the last couple of months we.ve released some really great value-added features to all our website customers. The FHA Loan Center and Reverse Mortgage Center have been met with warm reception by many of you. Both of these new features came as a direct response to customer interest. We appreciated every piece of feedback we get because it allows us to make improvements to our products and provide more value for our clients.

Sending an email to everyone in the company and tired of typing in an email address for each employee? Create an email group and save yourself a boat load of trouble and time. An email group allows you to send to multiple people using only a single email address. For example you could create a group and send to everybody@mydomain.com and have it send to all employees within your company. You can have multiple groups go to various clusters of people within the company, such as mybranch@mydomain.com could go to all loan officers within that branch.

By using approved contacts in our system you can give your assistants the necessary privileges to manage all or portions of your account through the Etrafficers, Inc. backroom without having to give them your username and password and without giving them access to more than what they need.

Now that all approved contacts have their own log in username and password for Etrafficers.com, we thought a simple explanation of how to setup and edit approved contacts and their privileges was a worthy topic.

To add an approved contact:

1. Log into http://etrafficers.com
2. Under "My Account" go to "Manage Approved Contacts"

Last month’s email featured the release of the reverse mortgage center. We hope you’ve found the new center has been helpful. Many of you also expressed the need for a reverse mortgage application and we’re happy to announce that the application is completed and ready for your use.

You can access the reverse mortgage application in the same section of your website as all other applications. It is a standard Fannie Mae 1009 application that conforms to Fannie Mae standards however at present it is only available in English. Applicants are able to apply for the Home Keeper program as well as HECM reverse mortgage program.

Many of our clients have had the unpleasant experience of having their email stop working in a specific location (like at a hotel when they are on the road). This is usually because the ISP in the area does not allow users to send directly to the internet on port 25 (in an attempt to help control spam from virus infected computers).

A port is like a channel on a TV, or a station on the radio: you get certain information depending on the station you choose. Trying a different port number can fix connection issues, but the port you use must be one that our server responds to (trying to send on port 80, for example, will not work - that is the port used for browsing the web and not sending email).
